WHAT WE DO

"When I worked in a law firm, I was very protected." And now?

Instead of merely muddling through, an energetic professional, international business guru and visionary leader Dr. Vitek decided to help other people befuddled by the task of running a business in the USA and Canada. He did it by convincing Swiss and US private investors to start a business in education and business consulting, The Enterprise Institute. The business blossomed from a two-man operation center to an international operation with offices in USA (San Diego, Las Vegas, Chicago) and Canada (Vancouver), handling hundreds of calls and thousands of e-mails monthly. "The Enterprise Institute more or less acts like an educator or business integrator for people from overseas",  Dr. Vitek said.

Education - The Enterprise Institute provides and hosts seminars, trade missions, conventions, online e-learning classes and other business-related educational activities to professionals in the fields of taxation, occupational safety, labor and industrial relations, personnel management, financial advisory services, financial management, among others.

Business Administration and Consulting - The Enterprise Institute provides business planning, business evaluation, merger & acquisition, start-up-planning, reorganization, business-succession planning, and auditing. Financial data are checked and confirmed, we consider this normal as a service related to auditing. Most of these services are legal audits in the sense of the Canadian or US company law. A legal audit is the most comprehensive assessment of the presentation of financial data. By contrast, a Review is generally prepared for the assurance of the management and as a minimum requirement of financial institutions for the propose of extending credit. Finally an Analysis is limited on the plausibility and the ratios. An analysis is normally based on audited or reviewed financial statements.

An essential part of all our activities is understanding of the Canadian and/or US business environment in which a foreign company operates and to evaluate the risks of financial losses. In fact it's necessary to check past financial statements, but the key for a modern audit is to have time to move from an accounting approach to a planning approach--from present to future.

Investigation & Customer Advocacy - Our premier service. Auditing and business expertise provide us with the ability to perform hot-line consulting, assurance services, feasibility studies, market research and analysis, specialized audits, and valuation of businesses in business disputes, fraud, or other cases of incertitude and disputes.

International Career Services - Our new, rapidly growing and  popular service. Includes fully licensed and bonded specialty employment agency, capable of hiring and firing international staff for US and Canadian companies. We handle all practicalities of US and Canadian reporting and legal compliance regarding non-resident temporary employees, administration of benefits, international tax refunds, pre-employment screening and international relocation. Employers in the USA and in Canada can opt for temporary lease of foreign labor force, lease-to-hire contracts, or for direct employment contract with foreigner, facilitated by our experienced HR and legal professionals.

Feasibility & Research Studies - For a reasonable fee, clients can order independent feasibility expertise - a reality check of client's plans and aspirations against Canadian and US business rules, laws, regulations and market conditions.

More complex business projects are handled by confidential person-to-person interview between the client and Enterprise Institute specialist. Videoconferencing and secured communication channels are available worldwide, 24 hours daily. After reviewing client's project, Enterprise Institute comes up with detailed feasibility study of client's business plan, proposes realistic timelines, lists necessary resources, contacts, addresses and professionals (with their resumes), and proposes alternative budgets. Feasibility studies are very reasonably priced. Enterprise Institute specialists can be also retained to provide temporary business administration service, supervision and management of the project. Follow-up checks are made to determine whether clients were satisfied with the professional they chose. Dr. Vitek still recruits most of the lawyers and other professionals for Enterprise Institute in person. That way he can experience first-hand whether the lawyer and the lawyer's office workers treat the public well. Vitek says, "A lawyer can put anything into an ad in the yellow pages. Because you have the biggest ad doesn't make you necessarily the best lawyer".

The owners of The Enterprise Institute inc. are private investors from USA, Switzerland, and from the Czech Republic. The Enterprise Institute provides educational, consulting and other professional services, typically through the network of it's owners - business consultants, CPAs, lawyers and other participating professionals.
